At Reitmans, giving back has always been a foundational part of our identity. Since 2019, we have made significant donations to various organizations for causes that are close to our hearts, totalling over $400,000 to date.
We know organizations don't just need our help on Giving Tuesday; they need it year-round.

Giving Tuesday 2024
At Reitmans, every day is about striving for the betterment of women and society through our year-round contributions and social campaigns. We have made significant donations to various organizations for important causes, totalling over $400,000 since 2019. Giving back is foundational to our identity, and this year is no different.
According to Food Banks Canada’s HungerCount 2024 Report, the need for food banks has nearly doubled in only 5 years. Over two million visits are expected this month alone, and 700 000 of these visits will be from children.
We’re supporting the growing demand for food aid with a $10,000 donation to Food Banks Canada’s national mission. This contribution will help share food and funding to provide immediate support and strengthen local capacity, while advancing research and advocating for real change to relieve hunger and its root causes.

Giving Tuesday 2023
This year, we’re passing the mic to 3 brand ambassadors and donating $2,500 to each of the organizations that are important to them.

THIS GIVING TUESDAY!
For every purchase of sleepwear made today, Reitmans will donate $2* to the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

In 2021, for each gift card sold during Giving Tuesday, we donated $2 to the Up With Women charity. We gave back a total of $5,000 to this charity providing recently homeless, at-risk women and non-binary people access to technology and coaching services to build a sustainable pathway out of poverty.
This scarf is a cape
For each scarf sold online and in-store between December 1st and December 24th, 2020, Reitmans donated $1 to The Canadian Women’s Foundation. This helped provide critical support to women and girls through the COVID-19 crisis. Thanks to your support, we donated $10, 000 to the foundation.
The Tree of Opportunities
With a mission to give wings to girls across Canada, Reitmans customers were invited to make a $1 donation in-store from December 3rd to 25th, 2019. For every donation made, the customer could choose one of three different coloured ornaments, each representative of a unique Canadian Women’s Foundation program funding theme.

In 2020, we also made two donations on behalf of our Giving Tuesday contest winners. We donated $10,000 to the women’s shelter Nova Vota, which works to end interpersonal violence and abuse. Plus, we donated $10,000 to Martha House which is an emergency shelter for women and their children.
