I appreciate that Reitmans continues to carry this classic Chino style pants. Things I liked: - Soft cotton feeling material. This density of the material is more suited for spring, fall & winter, rather than summer, even though it was sold as part of the summer line. - Material stretches slightly to fit body well, and does not sag nor become unshapely, even after a few wear & washings. - Perfect length (purchased petite). It's cuffed (2 folds), but they are not sewn, so one can unfold based on personal preference. - Perfect length fit at waist down to ankle; right rise length (for me). - It's a high-waisted pants with a 1 1/4' waistband height which works for me - Quality stitch detailing (see pockets & seams) - Includes a zipper and button closure. Adding a clip closure would have been nice, as it's offered in some of the other pants merchandise. Recommendations: - Petite is only offered in 3 colours (sheet, beige, beetle). Hope Reitmans will offer them in other popular colours, black & dark navy. - This year's Chino are labelled as SLIM (similar to last year) but the hips are more curvier by 1/4" compared to last year's versions. I'm a rectangle shaped person, so the previous style with less curves on the hips would have been preferred (less bulky on the hips). - The material of last year's Chinos felt slightly different in density. In the product details, both last year and this year, both are 98% cotton & 2% elastane, but they feel very different when I compare them. Last year's material was more light weight & cooler feeling, compared to this year's Chino. Because last year's material felt lighter, the Chinos were more suitable for the hot summer season, which is what I needed. I'm hoping for the return of the lighter & cooler chinos. Reitmans has good quality control in the construction of their pants. Each pair of the same size is consistent in style, measurement & detailing. I appreciate their attention to quality control during production.
