I am petit. I ordered both size M and L. I decided to keep the L size as the neck is not as tight. Even though I can wear both size M and L , I like size L because I could wear a pair of leggings or jeans with it. It is beautiful! You can dress up or dress down. It also good for travelling.

The smocking at the waist is very slimming and the dress is flattering for my hourglass figure. I normally wear L or 12 and the L fits perfectly. I'm 5'9" and it falls approx 2" above my knees. The smocking at the neck is unique and I find it fits just a little tight and may not be preferable for someone that doesn't like anything fitted on the neck. Overall a pretty dress with a flattering cut that could be worn to work or on a night out.
